Shirley Bassey, one of the most popular Welsh singers of all time
Ganwyd Shirley Bassey yng Nghaerdydd yn 1937. Dechreuodd berfformio yn ei harddegau ac yn 1959, hi oedd y Cymraes cyntaf i ennill sengl rhif un gyda'r gân "As I Love You". Mae hi'n enwog hefyd am fod yr unig artist sydd wedi recordio mwy nag un gân thema James Bond, tri i gyd.

Esmé Kirby, y fenyw a wnaeth diogelu Eryri
-
Esmé Kirby, the woman who protected Snowdonia
Mae Eryri yn lle o harddwch naturiol sy'n denu twristiaid o bob cwr o'r byd. Sefydlodd Esmé Kirby, ffermwr defaid a chadwraethwraig, Gymdeithas Parc Cenedlaethol Eryri yn 1967 gyda'i gŵr Peter, i ddiogelu'r mynyddoedd rhag datblygiadau diwydiannol. Hi yw un o'r rhesymau pam y gallwn werthfawrogi'r dirwedd naturiol hardd hon heddiw!

Snowdonia is a place of natural beauty that attracts tourists from all around the World. Esmé Kirby, a sheep farmer and conservationist, set up the Snowdonia National Park Society in 1967 with her husband Peter, to protect the mountains from industrial developments. She is one of the reasons why we can appreciate this beautiful natural landscape today!

Mary Quant, yr eicon ffasiwn
-
Mary Quant, the fashion icon
Daw Mary Quant o deulu glofaol Cymreig, er iddi gael ei geni yn Llundain. Fel dylunydd yn y 1960au, creodd y sgert fach a enwyd ganddi ar ôl ei hoff gar, y Mini. Cafodd effaith bwysig iawn ar fenywod wrth i darnau eiconig hi rhoi gweddnewid i'w gypyrddau dillad, gan wneud iddynt deimlo'n bwerus ac yn rhydd.

Mary Quant comes from a Welsh mining family, although she was born in London. As a designer in the 1960s, she created the mini skirt which she named after the Mini, her favourite car. She had a very important impact for women as her iconic pieces revolutionised their wardrobes, making them feel powerful and free.

Betty Campbell, hyrwyddwraig addysg amlddiwylliannol
-
Betty Campbell, champion of multi-cultural education
Roedd Betty Campbell yn ymgyrchydd cymunedol Cymreig, a hi oedd y Brifawthrawes du cyntaf yng Nghymru. Mi wnaeth hi ddefnyddio syniadau arloesol ar addysg plant ac roedd yn cymryd rhan weithredol yn y gymuned. Cafodd cerflun ohoni ei ddadorchuddio yn Sgwâr Canolog Caerdydd y llynedd. Dyma'r cerflun cyntaf o fenyw ffeithiol a enwyd, mewn man cyhoeddus awyr agored yng Nghymru.

Betty Campbell was a Welsh community activist, and Wales' first black Head Teacher. She put into practice innovative ideas on the education of children and was actively involved in the community. A statue of her was unveiled in Cardiff's Central Square last year. It is the first statue of a named, non-fictional woman in an outdoor public space in Wales.
